Benjamin Edwin Slinger is a London based artist primarily working in sculpture. His practise deals with social, economic and anthropologically driven dystopian themes through material assemblage, drawing, painting and writing.
Abuse of power, masculinity and the semiotics of civil disobedience are examined using visual cues from design history to acquire visual palatability or desirability.
Parodic replication becomes a tool towards mockery of the inability of parody to function as a fully critical entity. Popular characters, political cartoons, depictions of state representatives are torn apart and reformed into a pseudo- parody of both previous and current states.
Slinger Graduated From Goldsmiths, University of London in 2013 and went on to study an alternative Masters with The School of the Damned in 2015.
